All work is in available light, no use of flash, filter, motor drive or digital manipulation. I shoot on spontaneous feelings and reactions; a visual diary for the last 50 years. My black & white is photojournalism, people in everyday situations. I approach people with a great deal of respect and do my best not to disturb them. It is an everyday challenge to capture all elements of an image with one shot, one single frame.
My color work is primarily nature and abstracts.
Co-founder of The Photographer's Eye Gallery in Philadelphia in 1976. Organized and held the first ever fine art photography auction in Philadelphia in 1977. Work included images by Stieglitz, Weston, Adams, Morgan, Abbott, Cartier-Bresson, Kertesz, Vishniac, Benson and many others. Held subsequent auctions in 1981 and 1983.
In 1996 was chosen by the San Diego Port Authority to install 2 murals, entitled, Dream Clouds, printed on vinyl and affixed to glass. The images measured 10 ft. x 12 ft. They were in Terminal 2. I was the only photographer chosen out of the 14 installations and a total of 532 submissions.
My work is in private collections in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California and Florida.
